PEC-TECHATHON 2.0 is dedicated to tackling specific problem statements across various domains. Our aim is to develop practical solutions that positively impact society, industries, and communities. PEC-TECHATHON 2.0 sets the stage for an exhilarating and innovative hackathon, focusing on tackling specific problem statements across diverse domains. Participants will have the opportunity to explore various themes, including Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Sustainability, Healthcare, Education, FinTech, and more. The hackathon welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork.
Over the course of the 24-hour competition, participants will benefit from mentorship by experienced professionals, gaining valuable guidance and insights to refine their projects. ELIGIBILITY
All Second Year,
Pre-Final Year, Final Year Students and Postgraduate Students from diverse disciplines and departments
within Panimalar Engineering College are eligible to participate in PEC - TECHATHON 2.0
Participants can form
teams comprising of 4 members, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration
and innovative thinking.
Multiple nominations
from individuals or teams are not allowed.
All Registered
Contestants have to submit solution to problem statements in the ideation template to the college.

Ideation
Submission of problem statements and solutions in the ideation template to the college. College will validate the first cut and will share it with the Cognizant team. Maximum of 15 teams will be shortlisted for the next Phase.

Shortlisted teams will develop a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or Prototype of the solution, Mentorship support sessions will be provided by Cognizant.

Video conversion: How to transform horizontal videos into vertical ones with a "follow the action" approach. This is for monetizing the content for social media and new OTT platforms that target mobile phones. Many studios around the world are digitizing their long tail and legacy movies and sports content, but they are not able to engage effectively on social platforms. |
Plagiarism checker: How to create a set of tools to help teachers check if the assignments submitted by students are original, not copied, or AI-generated. Also, provide a metric showing the degree of plagiarism and highlight the references. |
Ads classification: How to help media houses measure the effectiveness of their integrated campaigns across various channels, from print, radio, linear video and OTT, etc. Ads classification can help verify and provide proof to the advertisers that the ads were indeed delivered. This process requires image recognition and video analytics to understand the content, identify the product and brand names, update the core data with this information, and generate reports based on it. |
Doctors/Hospitals Credentialing and standard scoring solution for insurance companies: Consider different relevant parameters ; show/extrapolate future projection/trend on based on feedback/survey inputs from members. |
Patient Engagement Platform: Develop a platform or app that enhances patient engagement, allowing for better communication between patients and Hospitals / Doctors, appointment scheduling, medication reminders, and access to health information. |
Medical Records Management: Design a system to streamline medical records management, ensuring secure, interoperable electronic health records that can be accessed by patients and Doctors across different healthcare facilities .Try to adopt some standards. |
Fraud and malpractice detection by insurance companies in claims submission: Find unbundling, bundling, padding etc ; Provide insights and future projection/trends – summarization by hospitals, regions, time of the year etc.. (health insurance / vehicle insurance etc.) |
Healthcare Analytics: Develop tools for analysing healthcare data to identify trends, predict outbreaks, optimize resource allocation, or improve patient outcomes, such as predictive analytics models, data visualization dashboards, or population health management platforms. |
Healthcare Aid Application: Create a healthcare aid application to help the patient understand the diseases from symptoms or finding the insurance co-pay or premium based on various parameters (BMI, smoker, region etc). Create a machine learning model from the datasets derived from Kaggle. Data sets can be split to train and test the model. |
Healthcare AI Bot: Create an AI bot to understand the documentation and answer the queries in generative format. Wiki pages related to a specific domain can be used to train the bot. E.g. Answer queries related to Health insurance applicability, exclusions, down payment etc. Credit risks, mutual fund performances, investment strategies in finance domain |

Fraud Detection System using AI: Implement a fraud detection system using AI. Example: Find fraud and abuse in healthcare billing or claims, Find fraud in KYC process in banking etc. |
Internet Facing Application: Implement an internet facing application with strong security features. The application should prevent DOS, cross site scripting, support OIDC, encrypt data, handle certificates. |
